Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026 · Operated by Tournamon Games

This policy explains what information Tournamon Games ("we," "us") collects when you use Tournamon at tournamon.games (the "Service"), how we use it, and what choices you have. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) of Canada.

1. Information We Collect

Account information (if you sign in). We use Clerk to handle sign-up and sign-in. When you create an account, Clerk stores your email address and any profile information you provide (name, profile picture) on Clerk's servers. We do not store your password.

Game data. When signed in, we save your game progress — token balance, unlocked packs, unlocked backgrounds, saved custom decks, and campaign progress — to Clerk's user metadata so it syncs across devices. Guest players have this data saved only in their browser (localStorage) on the device they play on.

Online-match data. When you play an online multiplayer match, the match state (moves, hands, board positions) is temporarily stored in Upstash Redis for up to 24 hours so both players can rejoin and finish the game.

Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see how many people visit which pages and how fast pages load. This data is aggregated and does not identify individuals. We also use PostHog to track how the game is played (e.g. which decks are popular, when players buy packs). If you are signed in, PostHog associates these events with your Clerk user ID.

Automatically collected. Like most sites, our hosting provider (Vercel) logs standard request metadata — IP address, browser type, request timestamps — for security and performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the game, save your progress, and sync it between devices.
  • To run online multiplayer matches.
  • To understand what people enjoy, so we can improve balance and features.
  • To detect abuse (e.g. rate-limit spam room-creation).
  • To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share the minimum information needed with these service providers, all of whom act as our data processors:

We will only disclose your information to other third parties if required by law or a valid legal request (e.g. a court order).

4. Cross-Border Transfers

Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. By using Tournamon, you understand that your data may be stored and processed outside of Canada, and may be subject to the laws of those countries.

5. How Long We Keep Information

  • Account data: for as long as your account exists. Delete it any time by asking us.
  • Online-match state: automatically deleted after 24 hours.
  • Analytics events: retained by our providers per their standard retention policies.
  • Server logs: retained by Vercel per their standard policy.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to save your game progress locally so it works offline and persists between sessions. Clerk sets a session cookie (or equivalent) when you sign in to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

7. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

You have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your account and associated data.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at tournamon@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Tournamon is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We rely on our service providers' industry-standard security controls (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging). No online service is 100% secure — if we ever suffer a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
